Chateau Roux

Along the back alleys of Carnaby St. amidst one off shops such as Beyond the Valley, there is a store that goes by the name of Chateau Roux. As you enter the shop, dressed with black and white décor, Mr Vegas ‘hot wuk’ rides through your ears and deep into your head. I found myself walking out humming along to the tune. Whilst you browse through the selection of Tshirts, hoodies, cardies and polos, the chilled play list skips from hip hop to Prodigy. The chilled ambience that surrounds the shop, makes it even easier to browse through the assorted upper body attire.

This exclusive clothing establishment is well known for their trademark ‘shot gun’ t-shirts which are produced by shooting the t-shirts with a shot gun. This quirky invention is not the only in house designing they do. The printed t-shirts are all hand printed using screen prints. With prices ranging from £35 for a t-shirt to £75 for a jacket, you can’t go wrong with a purchase, also stocking custom jewellery for £35 each. Although at the moment they only stock clothing for the torso, They plan on expanding their stock next year by producing garments like chinos and shorts.

Slowly making a name of themselves, they have sold their clothes on well known website Asos.com, and are well known in the music industry by artists such as Plan B and Eliza Doolittle. If you are looking for limited t-shirts which you won’t see rinsed out amongst your social circle or around London, then this store is for you, changing collections every season even though they don’t follow blatant trends from London fashion week. The setout of the shop and the customer service makes shopping there welcoming and enjoyable. I wouldn’t hesitate to go there again.
